Overview

Joma Jewellery has been with us since 2017. They new they had a great product being sold in many department stores and independent shops, so now it was time to sell it online. By moving to Adobe Commerce to achieve this, they have had 100% YoY growth.

Challenge

  • A bespoke, feature rich ERP system, managing products, stock, shipping and fulfillment that needed real-time integration.
  • Wanted to bring in selling B2B online, with a fully managed customer portal.
  • Ambitious business strategy to launch personalised product
  • The biggest challenge of all, was when the pandemic hit and all B2C plans were accelerated to make up for the gap their B2B business left as a result of shuttering the high street.
  • We needed to find front-end technology solutions for user experiences that are not generally seen on eCommerce websites.

Solution

  • First priority, back in 2017, was to redesign and replatform their site onto Adobe Commerce. We knew then that they needed an eCommerce platform with no limits, Adobe Commerce.
  • Adobe Commerce gave us the ability to provide a bespoke, real-time, integration for their ERP system and a way to build user experiences headless.
  • Now with a highly performing and agile site, they are moving faster and faster with new ingrations and more advanced UX, personalised features.

What We Did

Strong Foundations

An eCommerce Platform for the foreseeable

  • We redesigned and replatformed them on Adobe Commerce. A platform that would give them agility and space to grow in whatever direction, without limits.
  • Ensure that all integrations were real-time with failsafes, using RabbitMQ.
  • Have the site run on a auto-scaling environment, so they could cope with the traffic peaks without thinking about it.
  • Zero downtime deployments, so new features can go live during the day when everyone is around. Along with ‘click of a button’ rollback.

Working Relationship

With any of our clients, a transparent and honest relationship is paramount to breeding trust and efficient delivery.

  • Our retainer ticketing system (Jira) is designed in such a way that Joma Jewellery could easily manage what they needed and it which priority order.
  • Account calls are never about ‘why is this not done’, ‘when will you sort this’ etc, they are ‘these are our plans, what do you think?’
  • Weekly meetings take place with the Head of eCommerce and objectsource CEO to ensure alignment and to get advice on Strategy.

Deliver, deliver, deliver

All this has resulted in delivering confidently and efficiently. Here are just some of the bigger features.

  • Build Your Own Bracelet – a feature to completely personalise the charms and initials desired, along with a personalised poem to send along with it.
  • Personalised basket experience to add a personalised card, bag and personalised bow, to make the gift that bit more special.
  • Create a photocard, with personalised messages to go along with your bracelet.
  • Integrations with Ometria, Gorgias, Stripe, PayPal, Pinterest and many more.

The Results

There are many great results we could mention, but at the end of the day, the one that mattered. This was a predominantly B2B business that was hit hard at the start of the pandemic. They switched gears, accelerated their B2C plans and needed objectsource to fulfil their needs. They are stronger now and still going strong.
