At the beginning of this week I met with one of my clients and challenged them to writing a blog that had a reference to an electric blanket. It couldn’t just reference an electric blanket, it had to be intrinsic to the blog. So, here goes…
I actually find this challenge very easy, as I can liken Magento to an electric blanket and here is why:
1. Magento is a hot product, anyone who is anyone in the online shopping business is now turning to Magento for their base platform. Come on, when you consider made.com and Harvey Nicols are using it, then it is no wonder.
2. You can turn the heat up or down on Magento. As it comes with so many amazing features right out of the box, then you can make it as feature rich or featureless as you like! From putting in cross-sells, up-sells, promotions like buy x get x free, product search, storing of many product configurations, you name it.
3. People have commented to me about the fact that electric blankets are for old people, well when it comes to Magento, I can tell you that it is so easy to use that ‘old people’ can use it. I will also use this analogy by saying that it is the veterans for dotcoms that are also turning to get into bed with Magento, me for one and just give me a bell and I can tell you about others too.
See, just think about all the great things to do with an electric blanket, all that warmth and control of when you can switch that heat on and guess what you have Magento.
