Overview
BlueSnap are a payment processor based in the USA who operate around the globe. In NNNN BlueSnap commissioned objectsource to develop and maintain the payment integration between Magento/Adobe Commerce and BlueSnap’s processing infrastructure. The module allows merchants to take payments via numerous different payment types, such as Visa, Mastercard, ApplePay, etc.
Challenge
A payment gateway has to work flawlessly, processing customer payments without error. We work with the BlueSnap Product Manager and Quality Assurance team to create software of the highest quality. This includes creating features that use the full breadth of BlueSnaps payment processing functionality and managing changes to the Magento / Adobe Commerce code base. As with all long-term projects the code needs to be maintainable and the architecture flexible to accept changes we do not yet know about.
Solution
We have developed a software development and management process that allows us to work with the Bluesnap team on identifying and executing a road map of new features and providing maintenance changes.
The core is a strong governance framework, including weekly meetings, the use of structured development methodologies and an increasingly broad coverage from automated testing. We create regular, quality assured releases of the module to the Magento Marketplace for BlueSnap customer to use.
The project benefits from having a dedicated developer and senior oversight at objectsource, creating code and advising on development strategy.
