Ok, so there are just so many things you can do on your website in order to help it increase its search engine rankings, but this blog entry is going to talk only about why writing a blog is brilliant!

If you are anything like me, then you will always have something to say about the business you are passionately involved in. Maybe your partner and friends are sick of you talking about it, but there are 2 entities that aren't; the search engines and other people that are interested in what you do for their own business growth. Out of ideas, got a brain block, here are some blogging tips for you:

– Thank you to writtent.com for this aticle on 15 tips for writing a blog for SEO. This is a great start for you, but before you start to get worried that there seems to be so much to it, DON'T! The very worst thing you can do is NOTHING!

– Think about all those new customers you can get by being able to talk about your products in a completely different way to how you do in product descriptions.

– This is also a great way to either promote your brand or a brand you sell, by having brand specific blogs – you never know, if you talk about them they will want to talk about you, this has happened to me a few times when I discuss Magento Extensions.

– What about using this as away to talk about a new product you are about to launch and then directing the user to your newsletter sign-up page so you can keep them up to date. This happened to me recently about the new Pebble watch, I have signed up on their pre-order form and now I won't bother worrying about looking for it, I will just be told when it is ready for me to pay.

– Talk about how great your shipping rates are, or some other unique reason for why they should shop with you as opposed to your competitor.

– Something all you Magento website owners out there should consider is making sure that you link to products in your website; talk about them, the brand, the features, the benefits and then link across.

So, I hear you say, but "I just do not have time" – neither do I, but you will not believe the amount of dead time I find; waiting for my train, waiting for my son to stop having a tantrum, waiting in  queue and so on. When I find these times, I get my iPhone out, tap into Evernote (you have to get this) and start tapping away. Evernote will then synchronise whatever I write to my Evernote install on my laptop, so when I am ready to publish my blog, I just copy and paste!

So, don't hesitate, just get on and do it.
