Being a big Magento evangelist, I am always looking for ways to get people to understand how easy it is to use Magento as your eCommerce Platform, but you have to do it right or risk losing a lot of money!
In this post I have decided to appeal to those sporting fanatics, particularly runners! So, anyone that knows me will know just how much I love running and take it quite seriously. Running for me is an integral part of my life, get it wrong and my world becomes that much harder! I can relate my training for a Marathon to choosing, building and then running a Magento website.
Read this carefully I jump from using my run training analogy to launching a successful online shop with Magento.
Choosing
First things first, what training plan should I use in order to get the result I am looking for! I want to do this Marathon properly, I want a good time and I don’t want to crash and burn during the training and I want to still be able to walk away from the finish line without feeling like I will never walk again! Think about that, my online shop needs to perform well, not create more work for me as it keeps hindering what I want to achieve and I need to be able to keep it going long term.
Building
So now I know I am going to use Magento, it ticks all the boxes, but I have never run a Marathon before! Yikes, what if I get this wrong as I am training? I know I will get a Personal Trainer, someone who has done this before, knows what I should eat, drink, the strength I need to build. Yes, that’s right, choose a Magento Agency, someone that has done this before, someone you can trust to guide you properly through the hard times. If you are in or around London, then choose a London Magento Agency. When you are training, if you do not conduct your training in the right order and build up correctly, getting the basics right, then you will hit an injury and then you are out of it! No more website, lots of wasted time, money and energy, not to mention the disappointment that you will not fulfill that dream.
Running a Magento website
Yay! You completed your race successfully, but which route did you take on the choosing and building!? If you chose the wrong platform or wrong agency, then right now you may well be feeling sheer fatigue! Your website has many injuries/bugs, you are fighting to get up/keep the website up and you are looking dreadful, in fact people look at you and think “oh dear, you look terrible, what happened, best leave you to it and not talk to you until you sort yourself out” – do need to interpret that into relating this to your website!
Really hope this strikes a chord with some of my readers, as all I want to see are successful Magento online shops!
