Is WordPress good for Magento Websites?

By 10 October 2016No Comments

In short, yes! WordPress  is good for Magento websites.

Whenever we are commissioned to develop a new Magento website, we always say that you should put WordPress in and the main reason for this is that you can use it to create fresh and therefore current content. It is so important these days that you keep putting new content on your website on a regular basis.

Magento websites are, in the main, eCommerce websites and oddly, can in fact be quite static! “You have got to be kidding, Rebecca”, I hear you cry! Think about it, you put a load of products onto your website and once you have all descriptions sorted and pricing set, you leave the content alone until you need to either do a season refresh, add some new products, get rid of some others etc. If you are really good, then you will be inventive and keep looking at different ways to sell your products, like using Magento bundles or the Magento configurable products etc, otherwise, you are stuck for fresh and exciting content. So this is why we say you should add in WordPress.

With WordPress you can create quick and fresh content and make it look great too. It doesn’t have to be a blog, call it what you want; News, Magazine, Latest and Greatest, Tips, you decide. Create that space on your website where you can create content that the search engines and your customers will enjoy. The search engines will love you and start to send more and more customers to you!

It really is not that hard for a good Magento Agency to slip in for you. When you do ask them to do it, make sure you ask them to put in a great Magento Extension from Fishpig so you can properly glue (integrate) Magento and WordPress together.

Magento preaching over for today!
