Overview

Since migrating to M1 a decade ago, Astley Clarke had used an in-house team of developers who had resisted upgrading to M2 but the executive team understood that they were long-past due a change. Having ruled out various SaaS platforms, Astley Clarke were looking to create something visually and technologically superior and chose objectsource as their partner to take the brand to the next level.

Challenge

  • Migration from a heavily customised core of Magento 1 to Adobe Commerce Cloud.
  • Taking them through the change of working On-Premise with their full access of code and server configuration to the benefits of working on Adobe Commerce Cloud.
  • Creating a unique, luxury front-end experience.
  • Highly customised personalisation features.
  • Learning curve for internal resources to more efficient processes
  • Integration with BrightPearl as new ERP

Solution

  • End to end process mapping to help them make the right ERP decision.
  • Multiple, collaborative workshops to understand the full scope of the project.
  • Onboarding of their existing development team to train them on Magento 2.
  • Competitor Analysis to inform the redesign and desired user experience. The priority was to provide the very best mobile first experience.
  • Real time personalisation journey where the engaving and photo upload was shown on the jewellery item so the customer could confidently purchase.
  • Integration with BrightPearl, Ometria and Global-e. We were also requested to manage these partners to successful and on-time completion.

What We Did

This was an ambitious timeline, considering a complete replatform to Adobe Commerce Cloud, redesign and change of ERP to BrightPearl. We started in September and launched in the following February.

Once Astley Clarke decided on Adobe Commerce Cloud as their platform and objectsource as their agency partner, we set about conducting multiple workshops with key team members. We conducted end to end process mapping to look into their entire omnichannel process, manufacture and logistics and helped them to select BrightPearl as their ERP partner. We moved onto an intensive design phase with a full competitor analysis and agreed upon a sophisticated design and user experience, elevating their brand to the next level of sophistication.

The Results

  • With an ambitious timeline the new Astley Clarke site launched exactly as planned – on budget and in time for Mothers Day 2022
  • With exceptional features / look and feel the new site is a delight for customers
  • Astley Clarke decided to change their in-house approach and keep objectsource on retainer to manage their site long-term
  • The entire operation works more efficiently and is more automated with Adobe Commerce’s advance features, including Adobe Sensei, an agile ERP like BrightPearl helping to automate previously labour-intensive processes.
